Meaning of "Blusukan", Most Popular Javanese Term

"Blusukan" comes from the main word "blusuk" which means entry (come in) in the Java language. If this activity is done several times or repeatedly, usually this word is repeated like; "blusak-blusuk". This is almost the same as the word "ganti" (change), if it done repeatedly to become "gonta-ganti" or "balik" becames "bolak-balik".

If the word "blusuk" is positioned as a noun, the word will get suffix "-an" becomes "blusukan", is a term used to describe an activity entered into a place, then out again, and in again.

One of very familiar Javanese proverb and become a glorious philosophy of life, nowday is misinterpreted to be something that is considered unimportant or even harmful attitudes. Philosophy of a jargon "Mangan ora mangan sing penting kumpul" is often misunderstood as lazy attitude so more put together (chat) is not clear goal rather than working to make a living (mangan).

Basically proverb "Mangan ora mangan sing penting kumpul" contains an important social value sublime teachings. It reflects the attitude of our ancestors living in social interaction with others. Attitudes that prefers harmony others (together) rather than personal needs (mangan). If necessary, do not even eat (ora mangan) but lived harmony is maintained.
